Terms of use
Last updated: 2026-10-27 · Version 3.3.7 · Courtesy translation: the Spanish version prevails.
Pixthon is free, non-profit, and the calculator requires no account. It calculates industry reference prices for Mexico; they are not final prices. You agree the final price with your client.
01Acceptance
These terms govern the use of the Pixthon site and calculator. By using them you accept these terms. If you disagree, do not use the site.
02Who provides the service
Pixthon is created and operated by E. K. Shiraki, an individual. Contact and notices: contacto@pixthon.mx. For safety, the address for notices is provided on request through that email.
03The service
A calculator that estimates the cost of branding, graphic design, UI/UX design, websites, software development, social media, video and photo in three tiers (basic, standard and premium), per project, per hour or per month, and exports the result as PDF, Excel or XML. It serves those who charge (quote), those who hire (estimate and compare a quote they received) and those with a budget (see what it covers). Comparing a received quote is a market reference, not an assessment of the provider. It is free, ad-free and informational.
04Prices are references
Amounts come from rate tables built from public Mexican market sources, listed under “Sources & methodology”, adjusted by year, city and tier. They are an industry reference: not an offer, a binding quote, an official rate card or professional, tax, accounting or legal advice. Actual prices depend on scope, complexity, client, city, experience and negotiation, and may vary.
05Scope and taxes
- Rates cover the design or development service and file delivery. Each service states what is and isn’t included.
- They exclude suppliers, software licenses, AI tool credits, domain, hosting, ad spend, travel, talent and physical production or printing.
- AI may speed up part of the work, but rates reflect professional work (judgment, direction and responsibility for the result) and are not reduced for using it.
- Totals include Mexican VAT at 16%. The 8% border-region VAT only applies if the invoicing party qualifies for the tax incentive; check with your accountant.
- Withholdings (when the client is a Mexican company: income tax of 1.25% under RESICO or 10% for professional activity, plus two thirds of the VAT) are shown for reference under current law. Your tax situation may differ; confirm with your accountant.
06Exchange rate
USD conversion is informational, using Banco de México’s FIX rate (or a fallback source) on the stated date, and may differ from the rate in a real transaction.
07Your responsibility
You decide what to quote, how much to charge and what to send. Review amounts against your costs and the cited sources. Third-party data you enter stays on your device and you are responsible for having a lawful basis to use it.
08Exported documents
The PDF, Excel and XML files you generate are yours. They include “Made with Pixthon”. Don’t present them as endorsed, guaranteed or issued by Pixthon or its author: you are the issuer.
09Permitted use
You may use the site for personal and professional purposes. You may not use it for unlawful purposes or to deceive others; send automated requests to the counter, exchange-rate or account endpoints; create fake accounts or accounts in someone else’s name, or try to access other people’s accounts; attempt to breach or overload the site; or copy or redistribute the site, its code or design as your own.
10Accounts
The account is optional and free; it is used for features such as posting projects or applying. By creating one:
- You must be over 18 and provide truthful data. An account belongs to a single person or studio, who is responsible for what is done with it.
- You are responsible for your password and emails. Use a password you do not use elsewhere and, preferably, two-step verification. If you notice access you do not recognize, change your password and write to us.
- If you sign in with Google, Google confirms your identity; the account still has its own password so you do not depend on Google.
- You can delete your account at any time from My account. Deletion is permanent.
- The operator may suspend or delete accounts that breach these terms, are used to deceive, harass or spam, or put the site or other people at risk. When possible, you will be notified by email with the reason.
- Account features may change or be discontinued; if so, reasonable notice will be given.
11Project board
The board lets a person post a project with a budget and others apply at the posted rate or with a counteroffer. By using it:
- Pixthon is only a meeting point. It is not a party to the agreement between client and provider, does not represent either, charges no commission, processes no payments and does not guarantee payment, delivery or quality. The deal, deliverables, dates, payment method and invoicing are agreed directly between both parties.
- Contact details (phone and email) are shared only when both parties accept to work together. Before that, posts, profiles and messages may not include phones, emails or links to take contact outside the flow.
- Post only real, lawful projects with truthful information. Misleading offers, investment schemes, disguised unpaid work, and illegal or discriminatory content are not allowed. Each account’s first post, and posts showing risk signals, are reviewed by a person before they appear; Pixthon may decline, hide or cancel projects and applications that break these rules, stating the reason.
- There are limits to keep the board active: up to 3 open projects per account, up to 5 open applications and a maximum number of projects underway. Applications close on the stated date; a project can be renewed once.
- The reference range, the workload meter and the payment plan are guidance calculations. The payment plan is a proposal: it only binds whoever signs it, on the terms the parties agree.
- The closing survey is voluntary. Answers are private and only used in averages to improve reference rates; final amounts are never published.
- If you have a problem with the other party, try to solve it directly. You can report a post (e.g. fraud or prohibited content) and, if you worked together, the other person (e.g. did not pay, invoice or deliver, or keeps stalling without notice). A member of the administration reviews each report; Pixthon does not act as mediator or arbitrator and does not guarantee recovering payments.
- Notices and suspension: each confirmed report adds a notice to the reported account; with 3 notices the account is suspended. Confirmed fraud suspends the account immediately. On suspension, its open projects are canceled and its applications withdrawn. You are notified by email with the reason and can ask for a review at contacto@pixthon.mx. Knowingly filing false reports is also grounds for a notice.
12Donations
Donations are voluntary and give no consideration, extra features or priority support. The operator is not an authorized donee (donataria autorizada) of Mexico’s tax authority, so donations are not tax-deductible.
13Feedback
Feedback, bug reports and rate suggestions you send may be freely used to improve Pixthon, without payment or attribution. Please don’t send confidential information.
14Intellectual property

15Third-party links
The site links to third-party sources and platforms that Pixthon does not control.
16Warranties and liability
The free service is provided “as is” and “as available”, with no warranty of accuracy, fitness or continuous availability. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the operator is not liable for indirect damages, lost profits or decisions based on the calculations, except for wilful misconduct or gross negligence. Nothing here limits non-waivable consumer rights under Mexican law.
17Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by the federal laws of Mexico. The parties submit to the competent courts of Mexico, without prejudice to non-waivable user rights or the competence of PROFECO.
18Changes and language
Changes will be published here with their date and apply from publication. This English text is a courtesy translation; the Spanish version prevails.
